What we collect and why
When you send us an enquiry
If you use the “Discuss Your Project” form, we collect the information you provide, including your name, email address, phone number and message.
We use this information to respond to your enquiry, discuss your project with you and manage any business relationship or work that follows from your enquiry.
The form sends your enquiry to us by email. The website does not store the contents of your enquiry in its own database.
Marketing communications
When you submit an enquiry, you may choose to receive occasional updates, insights and information about Jordan Development Solutions and our services.
We will use your email address to send these marketing communications only if you have given us consent to receive them by email.
Giving marketing consent is optional and is not required for us to respond to your enquiry or discuss your project with you.
You can withdraw your consent or unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time. Marketing emails we send will provide a way for you to unsubscribe.
When you visit the website
If you allow analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used so that we can improve it.
When enabled, Google Analytics may record information such as the pages you view, buttons and links you click, whether an enquiry was submitted, the type of device and browser you use, your approximate location such as country or city, and how you found the website.
We do not send the contents of your enquiry to Google Analytics.
Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to distinguish one visitor from another and to measure how the website is used. We do not intentionally use Google Analytics to identify you personally.
Fonts and technical logs
The website uses Google Fonts. When these fonts are loaded, technical information such as your IP address and browser details may be sent to Google.
Like most websites, the server hosting this website may also keep routine technical logs, including IP addresses, browser information, requested pages, dates and times. These logs may be used for security, fault-finding and maintaining the website.
Protecting the enquiry form
To protect the enquiry form from spam and abuse, we use Cloudflare Turnstile. When you start to fill in the form, your browser contacts Cloudflare, and Cloudflare receives technical information such as your IP address and browser details to work out whether you are a person or an automated program. This protection is necessary for the form to work and runs whether or not you allow analytics cookies.
Our server also checks that the form was sent from this website, that it was open for a few seconds and that it does not look like spam, for example a message containing many links. It uses your IP address briefly to limit how many messages one connection can send in a short period.
Why we may process your information
We process your personal information where it is necessary to respond to a request you have made, to take steps relating to a potential or existing business relationship, and for our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving our website and business.
Where you have chosen to receive marketing communications by email, we process your email address for that purpose based on your consent.
You may withdraw your marketing consent at any time.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only where reasonably necessary to operate our website, communicate with you and run our business.
- Google, for website analytics and fonts;
- Cloudflare, for spam protection on our enquiry form;
- our website hosting provider;
- our email service provider; and
- any service provider we use to manage and send marketing communications where you have consented to receive them.
These providers may process personal information on our behalf as part of providing their services to us.
Some service providers may process information outside South Africa. Where personal information is transferred outside South Africa, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the transfer complies with POPIA and that an appropriate level of protection is in place.
We may also disclose personal information where required by law.
Cookies and your choices
We use necessary storage to remember your cookie preferences. These technologies are required for the cookie controls to work and are not used for advertising.
The spam protection on our enquiry form (Cloudflare Turnstile) may also use cookies or similar technologies. These are necessary for the protection to work.
Google Analytics cookies are optional. We use them only if you choose to allow analytics cookies through our cookie controls.
You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the website footer. You can also block or delete cookies using your browser settings or use Google’s browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics (opens in a new tab).
The main functionality of the website will continue to work if you do not allow analytics cookies.
How long we keep your information
Enquiry emails and related correspondence are kept for as long as we reasonably need them to respond to your enquiry, manage any business relationship or work that follows, and meet our legal, accounting and business record-keeping obligations.
If you have consented to receive marketing communications, we keep the contact information and consent record needed for that purpose until you withdraw your consent, unsubscribe or we no longer need the information for that purpose.
If you unsubscribe or object to marketing, we may retain a limited record of that request so that we can make sure you are not contacted again for marketing purposes.
Analytics information is retained for the period configured in our Google Analytics account, after which it is deleted in accordance with Google’s retention settings.
How we protect your information
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, interference, alteration or disclosure.
These measures include transmitting website enquiries over an encrypted connection and limiting access to systems and accounts containing personal information.
No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we take reasonable steps appropriate to the information we process and the risks involved.
Your rights
Under POPIA, you may ask us to:
- confirm whether we hold personal information about you;
- provide access to personal information we hold about you;
- correct or update information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- delete information where we no longer have a lawful reason to retain it;
- object to certain processing of your personal information;
- withdraw consent you have previously given us, including consent to receive marketing communications; and
- stop sending you direct marketing communications.
To exercise any of these rights, contact our Information Officer:
Abrian P. Stemmet
abrian.stemmet@jordandev.co.za
We will respond to your request as soon as reasonably possible and in accordance with POPIA.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal information, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za (opens in a new tab).

We may update this privacy notice when our practices, services or legal obligations change.
When we make changes, we will update this page and change the “Last updated” date shown at the top.
